In the absence of city electricity, many devices do not work and become useless devices. The use of internal combustion engines is very common, but in the meantime, there is another option for farmers, other than using the family of electric motors and motor pumps (Robin Subaru, Koshin, etc.), and that is the tractor. Since they use tractors for plowing, harvesting, grinding, etc., they prefer to use tractors instead of purchasing a single engine or motor pump.

The word “Tractor” means “puller.” This term refers to machines designed for pulling a load or equipment. In fact, a tractor is a vehicle used to provide the necessary power for pulling tools and machinery. It can also generate rotational force, similar to a single-engine motor.
To utilize the power produced by the tractor, specific design considerations have been implemented. For example, a PTO (Power Take-Off) shaft is installed at the rear of the vehicle. This shaft not only allows the tractor to tow implements such as plows or discs but also functions like a driveshaft, transmitting rotational motion to attached equipment.
The challenge here is the limitation of the rotation speed of this axis, which varies between different tractors. However, most of the tractors operating in Iran rotate at speeds below 540 rpm. This speed is not enough to operate centrifugal pumps. A gearbox is used to solve this problem. Basically, for this reason, the pump behind the tractor is attached to a suitable gearbox and sold.In addition, a chassis is required to mount the pump and gearbox on the tractor. Depending on the type of tractor the farmer has (PTO shaft speed), the distance and height he wants to transport his fluid (usually water) (calculation of pump head), and the volume of fluid he needs, various options are offered.
Water delivery, usually specified in cubic meters per hour, means for farmers, increasing the diameter of the outlet pipe means a larger water pump. A farmer who wants a lot of water will request a pump with a 6-inch outlet, while if the diameter of the water transfer pipe is less than 6 inches and he wants to use a conversion, it will lead to damage to the pump. The technical expert will introduce a specific pump based on the length of the pipe, the diameter of the pipe and the material of the pipe, and the difference in elevation between the source and destination.The tractor’s rotational speed, along with the required rotational speed of the pump, determines the type of gearbox. The more powerful the pump, the higher the rotational speed required and therefore the more powerful the gearbox with a higher ratio is required. Gearboxes can be selected from 1.3 to 1.6. The higher the ratio, the higher the price of the gearbox.
