The tractor backhoe loader is a very practical tool and equipment that is connected to the tractor and implements the function of the loader. Of course, the backhoe loader cannot work with the power and quality of the loader and is not suitable for heavy construction work. This tool is very widely used in agriculture, horticulture and especially animal husbandry and is considered a cost-effective equipment compared to the loader.

Backhoe loaders are attached to the front chassis of the tractor with bolts and nuts. Given that the chassis dimensions of tractors are different, naturally, a suitable backhoe loader must be designed and manufactured for each type of tractor. Also, whether the tractor is single- or dual-axle, there is a difference in the backhoe loader so that its chassis does not get stuck in the front tires.

Backhoe loaders consist of at least the following components: chassis, boom (main mast), bucket, boom and bucket jacks, and hydraulic hoses. To install a backhoe loader on a tractor, first its metal structures such as chassis, boom, etc. must be installed. After that, the driving force of the backhoe must be connected. Given that the main driving force of the backhoe loader is created by hydraulic jacks, then the backhoe must be connected to a hydraulic system.

One of the sources of hydraulic power for a backhoe loader is to use the tractor's hydraulic outlets. In fact, in this method, the tractor's hydraulic system is used to move the backhoe loader. In tractors like the Ferguson 399, which have four hydraulic outlets in addition to the trailer outlet, the backhoe loader hoses, which are three or four hoses, can be used.Connect to these outputs. In this case, to control and operate the backhoe loader, it is enough to move the hydraulic levers and use them. This is possible for any tractor that has four hydraulic outputs.

But for tractors that don't have enough hydraulic outlets, like the Ferguson 285 or Ferguson 475, there is usually a solution that increases the number of outlets. An underseat valve is a component that is installed on these tractors and increases the number of hydraulic outlets on the tractor.

Using tractor hydraulics to operate a backhoe loader is an efficient, fast, simple, and inexpensive method. However, if you plan to use the backhoe loader for a long time during the day, or if you want to do heavy work, or even expect a higher speed of operation from the backhoe loader, it is better to use a separate hydraulic system for the backhoe loader.

For a separate hydraulic system, you need an oil tank, a hydraulic pump, and a hydraulic valve (lever).

The oil tank is usually mounted between the two rear fenders, or next to one of the fenders. The hydraulic valve is mounted on a handle within easy reach of the driver.

But the pump must be connected to the threshing shaft (PTO) to be rotated by the power of the gearbox. There are two ways to connect the pump to the gearbox. First, you connect the pump to the shell around the threshing shaft (the gearbox shell) using a pot adapter. A 6-to-8-bar adapter can also be used to connect the pump shaft to the threshing shaft.

The second method is to remove the gearbox end plate that surrounds the threshing shaft and install a special plate called a Romanian plate in its place. The threshing shaft is also replaced with a shaft called a Romanian PTO shaft. This PTO shaft, which has one male end and the other female end, is inserted into the gearbox from the male end. The hydraulic pump is attached to the plate by four bolts and its shaft is inserted into the female part of the Romanian PTO shaft. In this way, the hydraulic pump is attached to the end of the tractor gearbox and rotates instead of the threshing shaft. This method, instead of using a potted medium, has the advantage that the pump does not protrude too much and the possibility of damage to it is low.
